Found this brand through a Tik Tok user and wow - it’s the best matcha I’ve ever had.

My husband hates matcha and now he’s asking me to make him a cup every day!

It is very suitable for everyday use, it is not bitter at all, it is very, very tasty and you can drink it without sweeteners, although it combines well with sweeteners. Its caffeine comes gradually and lasts a long time. I liked it very much and have already ordered it in 100 grams.

This is my second quality matcha as I am new to it and I can compare it to the other brand I tried recently. The Meiko matcha is very smooth in taste, also mild, does not have that strong nori/seaweed smell. The first one I tried from another brand had a very strong seaweed smell when mixed with warm water which made me look for matcha that does not have that, as it is not very pleasant to smell. This one does not have that. I am very happy with the purchase. This matcha powder indeed has those floral notes as it is advertised, when mixed into a drink, which is what I was looking for— I love floral notes in tea and coffee and I knew that’s what I want in my matcha, and I found it! When I received the order, the can was very well packaged. It was well wrapped with bubble wrap and my can arrived with no dents or damaged. Extra point for good packaging! I got 100g can because it was the only available option, and I was not sure if I will like it and wanted to try a 20g can first, but I am now glad I got a larger can and loved it as it is much cheaper to buy in larger quantities and I will definitely restock on this exact matcha brand when I finish this batch. I bought the 20g tin to try and see how it was, and I loved it at first sip. Not astringent at all, nice mellow and creamy taste, slightly umami, kinda nutty, flowery and overall just perfect. I can literally drink this straight up without milk or sweetener and it still tastes great, no bitterness. Also the color is just perfect. Even if I use 2g of matcha the color still looks vibrant. After this I bought the 100g a month ago and it's already almost finished. What a bummer the prices went up and I won't be able to afford it for a while.

This has got to be one of my favorite matcha powders. The green color is beautiful and the matcha is sweet and creamy I LOVE it. I usually make lattes every morning so I will definitely be buying the big bag of this matcha when it is in stock.

I've tried several matcha powders before, but this one is easily one of my favorites! It's super creamy even without milk, and pretty sweet compared to other powders I've tried. There's little to no acidity or astringency, so it's perfect as an usucha as well. I highly recommend this powder to individuals who don't like "grassy" or acid-tasting matcha powders, or anyone who likes a smooth matcha to get through the day!

I’m so glad I found this matcha! I love the popular Japanese brands, but this is by far my favourite! Affordable and easier to get my hands on, but still providing that iconic matcha taste. Split 1kg bag with my friend currently have 500g in my fridge for me to make drinks and sweet treats

I have purchased the Meiko 100g several times and it simply is my favourite matcha ever. I can’t wait for the restock and I think I will try the 1kg bag! As a side note, I love the tin cans and have been reusing them in my kitchen to store round teabags, they’re the perfect fit ;)
My favourite ratio is 5g matcha for 100g water, one tea spoon of maple syrup, pinch of Irish Sea salt and 150g of whole milk!

I've used an electronic whisk before moving to a wooden whisk and can't believe it took me so long to try this, I'm never going back to an electronic one because of Matchaeologist. It's wrong to not buy matcha powder without one of Matchaeologist's whisks.

Very good value for money, the matcha whisks well and creates a really good microfoam that’s creamy. Not bitter, with nutty and floral notes. High quality and vibrant green, fine texture too so I don’t even sift it half the time. The 100g tin is better than the smaller tin and lasts very long for daily use. My favorite matcha, can’t recommend it enough!!

First Matchaeologist purchase and definitely not the last.

I keep coming back to this matcha even though I’ve tried many others at different price points. Meiko matcha for me is the best balance between price and flavour. It is very smooth and finely ground, so you won’t get the powdery gritty texture. The colour is a vibrant green. The umami is good and whilst the flavour profile is overall subtle in my opinion, it works well. I use 1tsp with 50ml 80 degree C water and add to warmed 100ml oat milk. This is naturally sweet so I don’t need to add sweetener. 100g tin is more economical.

Even though this is culinary grade, it still has well rounded body and tastes great in iced lattes. The one star less is because my tin arrived with an irreversible dent in it but otherwise, quality was good and I liked the postcard that came with it.

I’ve tried plenty of matcha and I was super surprised on the flavor of Meiko. Out of the 6 different tins/brands of matcha I have I kept gravitating towards this one. Perfect for my lattes beautiful color and great taste. With that said pleaseeee restock the 100g. The first tin I bought was the 20g to just try and i must have the bigger tin. Anyways highly recommend I personally liked it a bit more than that matcha in a blue tin everyone recommends…. IYKYK. Definitely recommend for people to try it, I’d say it’s beginner friendly taste wise.
